Shipshewana
Area
Take a step back in time into a friendly, small town filled with
pleasant memories. The smell of fresh bread baking, and the rhythm
of horse hooves trotting down the street are just a part of what
you will find in Shipshewana. The community is filled with interesting
shops, bed and breakfast inns, quilts, antiques and local folks.
It is located in the middle of the third largest Amish community
in the United States.
Shipshewana is home of the renowned Shipshewana Auction & Flea
Market, an enormous country sale with some 1000 vendors and dozen
auctioneers going at the same time.
The town is bustling and exciting in the summer, a quiet treasure hunter's
dream all year round. Most shops are open 12 months out of the year,
but closed each Sunday. Put Shipshewana on your list of places to
visit!
